Inside Line Promotions – DODGE CITY, Kan. (Sept. 23, 2019) – Kraig Kinser produced a solid weekend at Dodge City Raceway Park, where he garnered a top-five result during the opener before capping the weekend by recording the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

“One night we qualified well and ran a good heat race and that put us in a good spot for the feature,” he said. “The second night we didn’t. We had to start near the back and we weren’t able to drive up to the front. When you qualify better it gives you a better change to start up front at the end of the night. We went out early one night and later the second night. The draw definitely plays into that, but that’s the way it works out some nights.”

Kinser qualified third quickest to kick off Friday’s action. A runner-up result in a heat race was followed by a fifth-place finish in both the dash and main event.

“The track got one lane both nights,” he said. “It was tough to pass all weekend. The track was different where one night was quicker and one was slower and slicker, but it still had one lane that was dominant.”

Kinser timed in 15th quickest on Saturday. He placed sixth in a heat race before maneuvering from 18th to 13th in the main event, good enough for the Hard Charger Award.

“It was a good weekend,” he said. “Any time you can get a top five it’s a good weekend. We wish we could have had a top five both nights, but we’ll take how it played out.”

Kinser and the World of Outlaws will compete this Wednesday at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill.; Friday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, during the BeFour the Crowns Showdown; and Saturday at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., during the Commonwealth Clash.

“Jacksonville is the track out of those where we’ve had the least amount of laps,” he said. “We just came out of California, where there were a lot of small tracks. As small as it is you want to get out and qualify good, start up front in your heat and hopefully stay up there.”
