Steffens' 2024 season kicks off with Chili Bowl at SageNet Center
The 2024 season got underway for St. Charles, Missouri’s Kyle Steffens on Friday afternoon with his preliminary night at Tulsa Expo Raceway (Tulsa, Okla.) for the 38th annual Chili Bowl Nationals.
With 80 Midget entries set to compete in Friday’s prelim, Steffens went forward in both his heat race and qualifier, backing up a fourth-place finish with an eighth-place outing. Relegated into a B-Main later that night for a chance into the preliminary feature, Kyle improved three positions but missed a transfer spot by one car with a fifth-place finish.
Steffen’s bid for the $20,000-to-win Chili Bowl Nationals main event drew to an early end on Saturday evening after suffering a mechanical issue in his E-Main.
