Inside Line Promotions – ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. (Oct. 11, 2018) – Brian Brown recorded a trio of top-10 finishes last weekend during the final stop of his month-long visit to Central Pennsylvania.

Brown opened the action on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., by advancing from fifth to third place during the Al Hamilton Tribute/Dirt Classic Qualifier that had been postponed by weather a couple of weeks ago. The third-place result was Brown’s career-best finish at the famed half-mile oval.

“I felt pretty good during the first feature,” he said. “We had a good starting spot, but I didn’t do a good job of getting through turns one and two myself. I got tight and pushed up. I was ahead of Lance Dewease down the frontstretch. Lance got by on the inside and (Brian) Monteith went around the outside. That was a critical point. We settled in there and ran with those guys the rest of the way. Overall it was a good result.”

Brown then won a heat race to start the night’s full program. He lined up on the inside of the fourth row and battled just outside the top five for most of the feature before settling for a seventh-place finish.

“I think it’s the first time we’ve won anything at Williams Grove,” he said. “It’s a very, very tough track. There was a one to 12 draw and we drew the seven to determine the feature starting lineup. We tried some stuff in the feature. We don’t have a lot of laps there or time to tinker with things. We tried some things in that final feature and it actually made us a little worse. It was probably the worst I’ve felt there in the last month. Sometimes you have to do that to see if you can make it better. It just didn’t work out.”

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday at Lincoln Speedway, which hosted the Dirt Classic. Brown qualified eighth quickest overall. He finished where he started – second – during his first heat race before charging from seventh to third place in his second heat race. That ranked him fourth in overall points and lined him up on the outside of the second row for the A Main.

“We went out and were eighth quick and that was a little disappointing,” he said. “We were pretty good in that second heat, going from seventh to third. Then we had some momentum going and now we’re in the hunt to have a good run or possibly win. We started fourth in the feature and got to third. We’re having an issue trying to get our car right once the track blows off. We’re not as good as we need to be. That hurt us on Saturday and we lost a few spots. We’re not happy starting fourth and running seventh, but overall it was a decent night.”

Brown’s seventh-place result was his best-ever finish at the track.

Brown will compete with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series this Saturday at Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Ind., during the Wabash Clash and Sunday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, during the Last Call for Them All.
