Versatile Arnold Sisters Do It All

PETERSEN MEDIA: In Sedalia, MO, two teenagers are taking the racing world by storm, and they don’t care what type of car they hop in and race. The most interesting thing about these two? They are two teenage girls, and they have no problem taking on the best drivers in the world.

Haley and Miranda Arnold have spent the last two seasons refining their craft racing sprint cars traveling all over the country, and competing in different cars and in different organizations.

In 2011, these sisters decided to take their Sprint Car racing careers to the next level as they spent nearly every weekend traveling throughout American’s heartland competing with the American Sprint Car Series’ (ASCS) National tour, it’s many different regional divisions, and even ran a few races wingless to end the season.

Though they faced their share of set backs, and bad luck, these two hard nosed sisters pushed each other no matter the circumstance.

“It’s fun racing with Miranda,” explained the elder sister, Haley. “We are easily each other’s biggest fans, but more importantly each others biggest fans.”

Towards the end of 2011, Haley suffered a motor issue that sat her on the sidelines throughout the month of August, but she was still a staple in the Arnold Motorsports pit area as she was younger sister, Miranda’, crew-chief.

“I know it was tough on her to not be on the track, but having her there meant a lot,” said Miranda. “She gives me great driving feed back, as well as knows how to help work on the car since she drives as well.”

Though she never got back into her winged 360ci sprint car, Haley ended the year by making a pair of non-wing sprint car starts at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, MO.

Haley showed her versatility as he posted a pair of top-tens in her two wingless starts, which is impressive considering the difference of racing a winged car, and a non winged car.

“It was tricky making the switch,” explained Haley. “I did have a lot of fun running non wing, and hopefully we can get back without the wing a couple times in 2012.”

As far as 2012 goes these Missouri teenagers want to race as much as they can in any kind of car they can climb into.

“I really enjoy running the winged car,” explained Miranda. “Next year I’m hoping to run as many winged races as possible wherever and whenever.”

These young up and coming sisters are definitely two names to remember as they continue to progress and improve, they will be a force on the dirt tracks through out middle America.

“I just have to thank my family and all of our great sponsors,” said Haley. “Without them we wouldn’t be able to do this, and it is just such a fun thing for our whole family to do on a weekly basis.”
