Bret Ervin Racing Set to Hit King of the West Trail in 2011

By PJ Petersen
SACRAMENTO- After looking over various schedules from various organizations and sanctioning bodies, Bret Ervin Racing and driver Andy Gregg are excited to announce their commitment to the 2011 Golden State King of the West series.

2010 saw the team hit 30 races at the races of their choosing along the West coast with no commitment to any series. During the winter months, the team decided to take their program to the next level and go with the organization that gives them a great opportunity to race with some of the top teams on the West coast, and also give their sponsors the most exposure.

“We are really excited about the product that Dan Simpson and his team are putting together for their 2011 season,” said team owner Bret Ervin. “With their television package, and numerous fan fest events they have planned I am excited to get our team and all our partners a ton of exposure.”

The KWS schedule is compiled of 27 races at 15 different tracks along the West coast. Aside from the races, there is also 15 fan fest events scheduled in each of the different cities to give anyone a chance to check out the cars and trailer and hang out with their heroes before the race takes place.
“I’m very excited about the King of the West series,” said Gregg. “I’m thankful that Bret (Ervin), and all of our supporters are giving me the opportunity to compete with the best racers out here on a weekly basis, and I think the KWS staff really is moving in the right direction.”

The KWS kicks off April 9th in Antioch CA, at Antioch Speedway and runs until the season ending Cotton Classic October 15th, at Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA.

Aside from the KWS campaign, Bret Ervin Racing is going to hit various ASCS National, Civil War, and open races that the schedule allows.

2011 is going to kick off February 9th at Groppetti Automotive Thunderbowl Speedway in Tulare, CA at the first ever Lucas Oil ASCS National race in the state of California. There are also plans to hit Lucas Oil ASCS National races in Hanford, Placerville and Tucson, Arizona. The schedule also calls for Civil War races in Watsonville, CA and again at Placerville, the Sherm Toller Memorial at Marysville Raceway Park, the Fall Nationals at Silver Dollar Speedway, and the 18th Annual Trophy Cup in Tulare, CA.

“When we do not have an event with the KWS we want to be at the most popular races with the biggest crowds,” said Ervin. “All of us are antsy for our first green flag.

Bret Ervin Racing is still finalizing some big changes for the 2011 season and hopes to announce them very soon.
