Jensen Ford Tops Bulls Gap Field for Third Win of the Season

Jensen Ford took his one-race old Mike Whitehead Racing No. 83 Whitehead Construction Inc./ TNT Race Car/ Eagle Racing Engine Late Model into battle on Saturday evening at Tennessee’s Volunteer Speedway and came away with his third win of the 2019 campaign. (Sarah Canning photo)

“Between rainouts and bad luck on the track, this has been a tough year, but it’s funny how a win can make you forget about all of the bad stuff pretty quick,” Ford laughed. “This was our second night out on this new car, and we were able to show a lot of speed. I’m definitely fired up about the remainder of the season.”

On Saturday night Jensen Ford visited Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee), where he was piloting his Whitehead Construction Inc. No. 83 Crate Late Model entry. In a field of 16 entries, Ford laid down the second-fastest lap in time trials behind Tim Byrd, which positioned him second on the starting grid for the main event. Jumping into the lead on the drop of the green flag, Jensen led wire-to-wire en route to his third win of the season.

Byrd, Logan Roberson, Rusty Ballenger, and Heath Alvey completed the Top-5 finishers.
