Hill kicks off 2024 season with XRSS Spring Thaw at Bulls Gap
Vic Hill officially kicked off his 2024 season on Saturday afternoon with the two-day Spring Thaw at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.).
After Mother Nature shifted Friday’s XR Super Series opener to Sunday, Hill followed up the 12th-fastest qualifying effort in his group on Saturday afternoon with a sixth-place finish in his heat. Needing to place third or better in his B-Main to make the $30,000-to-win Spring Thaw, Vic came one spot shy with a fourth-place outing.
On Sunday, Vic squeezed into the finale with a third-place finish in his consolation race after placing seventh in his heat. Pinned on the 11th row, Hill muscled forward four spots in the 40-lap affair to finish 17th.
