Michael King Jr. closes out 2023 season at Gateway Dirt Nationals
Sporting a special wrap for the weekend, Michael King Jr. unloaded his No. 14 machine at the Dome at America's Center (St. Louis, Mo.) on Thursday afternoon for the first night of the Gateway Dirt Nationals.
Stopping the clock 19th-quickest in his group, King started his heat race from the fourth row and finished seventh which relegated him to a B-Main. Needing a Top-2 finish to make the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Michael recorded a seventh-place outing.
Slated to start eighth in the second qualifier on Saturday, Michael battled for a Top-5 position but ultimately fell out of a transfer position. He finished seventh and was unable to crack the A-Main field.
