Bailey Battles Back From Problems During Second Start at Electric City Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – GREAT FALLS, Mont. (July 1, 2020) – Rich Bailey scored his second top five in a row during a Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series show at Electric City Speedway last Friday.

Bailey, who was driving for Mike Quigley, had to overcome a couple of problems during the night to secure a fourth-place finish for the second straight week.

“We got to the lead in the heat race and a rock came up and hit a spark plug and broke it,” he said. “I lost quite a bit of power and we fell to third.”

That lined Bailey up on the outside of the third row for the main event.

“The track slicked off pretty good and slowed down quite a bit,” he said. “I needed to do a gear change to accommodate to the track, but I didn’t have the adjustment to do it.

“We have everything we need to make adjustments to whatever track conditions are. We have a good grip on the handling so that’s good. We’ll have the adjustments and know how the car will react so that will give us a better chance to get closer.”

Bailey advanced two positions in the feature to place fourth and earn the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

The team will venture to Electric City Speedway this Friday for the third straight weekend.
