Heartland Modified Tour makes first visit to Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday, with Moms admitted free

WHEATLAND, MO. (May 6, 2024) - Some of the region's top USRA Modified talent will be on display Saturday night when the new Heartland Modified Tour makes its first visit to Lucas Oil Speedway.

The $2,000-to-win main event for the Modifieds headlines the Big Adventure RV Weekly Championship Series action as all Mothers will be admitted free, courtesy of Vietti Marking Group, to commemorate Mothers' Day Weekend.

The Arctic Food Equipment USRA Modifieds, a usual part of the weekly program, will see several newcomers drop in on Lucas Oil Speedway. The Heartland Modified Tour's first two events included several drivers who compete on the United States Modified Touring Series.

Some of those drivers include Darron Fuqua of Mayetta, Kan., and Terry Phillips of Springfield, winners of the first two Heartland Modified Tour events in 2024. Fuqua, the 2018 Lucas Oil Speedway USRA Modified track champion, leads the early points on the new series, nine in front of Tyler Wolff of Fayetteville, Ark.

The Clear Creek Golf Cars USRA B-Mods, O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars and Hermitage Lumber POWRi Late Models also will be in action.

This marks the second Weekly Championship Series program of the season at Lucas Oil Speedway after an April 27 rainout. Feature winners on April 20 were Robbie Reed (USRA Modifieds), Ryan Gillmore (USRA B-Mods), Justin Wells (POWRi Late Models) and Derek Brown (USRA Stock Cars).

Pits open at 4 p.m. with grandstands at 4:30, hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:05 p.m.

Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 Presented by Missouri Division of Tourism 3-day passes available: Three-day reserved seat passes remain available for the 32nd Annual Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 Presented by Missouri Division of Tourism. The May 23-25 event will feature the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil MLRA, plus Hermitage Lumber POWRi Late Model programs.

The Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 will feature $10,000-to-win main events on Thursday with the 11th annual Cowboy Classic and on Friday for the Tribute to Don and Billie Gibson. Saturday's 100-lap finale will award the winner $50,000. Devin Moran of Dresden, Ohio, is the defending race champion.
