Hagar Heading to Pair of ASCS National Tour Speedweek Races in Arkansas

Inside Line Promotions – MARION, Ark. (July 19, 2022) – Derek Hagar is joining the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this weekend for a pair of races during Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek.
Hagar plans to compete on Friday at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, Ark., and Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark. He enters the weekend with a pair of ASCS National Tour triumphs this season, making him one of only two drivers to win multiple features.
“Our race program is pretty solid,” he said. “We’re not racing as much as we want to. We have to pick and choose right now. When we do show up, I hope these guys hate seeing us pull through the pits.”
Hagar hasn’t competed at Batesville Motor Speedway since winning a feature at the track in July 2015.
“It’s a nice facility,” he said. “It’s not a sprint car track. It races more of the late models and modifieds. This week it’ll be hard to tell what it will do with it being 102 degrees outside.”
Hagar has won three of his four races at I-30 Speedway this season, including an ASCS National Tour event.
“It’s one of my favorite race tracks,” he said. “It’s close to home. We have a good fan base there, but that’s Crawley territory. To hear the cheers when my name is called is pretty special.”
