Dan Ariaz killed more than mosquitoes for the second season with the NCMA. The number X SCHNEE Modified clinched the combo car championship again this year. Winning the Dirt/Asphalt championship is no easy feat. One win and weekly consistency proved powerful.

The American Sprint Car Series raced Saturday night at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway and John Carney II held off an all-star field for the win in the 43rd annual Winter Nationals. With the rubber down on the Devil’s Bowl, the race was about patience. Gluing the Lubbock Wrecker Service No. 11x EAGLE to the surface and driving forward to the victory. The win marked one of three in Texas for EMi customers as Dalton Steed topped the IMCA RaceSaver portion of the Winter Nationals and Chase Randall made it three in his Stallard SST Micro. Chase earned his first win at Gator Motorplex in Willis, TX.

Jack Dover wrapped up the 2016 campaign the best way he could. Dover scored a victory during his season finale last Saturday at Butler County Speedway to give him 14 triumphs this year, which is only one behind his career-best total. It marks the fourth time Dover has earned at least 14 wins in a season.

Friday night Rico Abreu captured his first career victory at Keller Auto Speedway before coming back on Saturday to put together another impressive performance aboard the Abreu Vineyards No. 24 EAGLE. It marked his 10th career King of the West triumph. “It feels great to come back home and sweep the Cotton Classic here in Hanford,” Abreu commented after the race. “It was a lot of fun early in the main event racing with the guys up front. I really want to thank Paul Silva, Trevor Canales and the entire 24 team for giving me such a great car every time we hit the track.”

Zach Daum is yet again the POWRi National Midget Champion. “A championship isn’t won with a few races; it’s won over a year. We started in March and were consistent and it paid off.” The lone EAGLE chassis flew to the top of the series.
