Park Jefferson to host Road to the Iron Cup for Sprint Cars this Saturday

Saturday night, the Park Jefferson Speedway will feature it’s first of six Road to the Iron Cup events. Each of these events see and increased purse with a draw/redraw event, and drivers also earn a $25 off voucher for their 2018 J&J Fitting Iron Cup on September 14-15. This Saturday fans will see the IMCA RACESaver Sprint Cars host their 2018 Road to the Iron Cup event. Also on hand for fans will be the first trial run of the new O’Reilly’s Auto Parts scoreboard. Park Jefferson is happy to announce that with the help of Daktronics, J&J Fitting, Lewis Electric, Mid Country Machinery and Artworks Graphics, the Park Jefferson will begin it’s trial run with the new scoreboard.

Drivers in the sprint car class will be racing for an additional $100 to win. If 20 or more cars are there, that means a top prize of $800. In addition, there will be an additional $50 for one driver drawn between 2-5 and $50 drawn between a driver between 6-24th. The IMCA RACESAVER class, which is in just its second year at Park Jefferson, has fast become a fan favorite. South Dakota drivers Elliot Amdahl and Dusty “The Combine” Ballenger have been regular competitors at the track over the last year and have shown they know the fast line around. Defending track champion Colin Smith and Spirit Lakes Nate Eakin have well represented Iowa in the standings. With a strong Nebraska contingent based around Eagle Raceway, it will be interesting to see if the Cornhusker State sends any invaders north for the larger top prize.

Also on the card will be the other 5 great classes including the Artworks Graphics IMCA Modifieds, J&J Fitting Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, Z98 Hobby Stocks and the IMCA Sport Compacts. Gates will open this Saturday at 5pm with hot laps set for 6:30. Adults are $12, Seniors 70+ are $5 and Children 6-16 are $2 with children under 6 free. Pit passes are $30 and $12 clubhouse nightly passes can be purchased at the souvenir booth. For more information go to www.parkjeff.com and follow along at www.facebook.com/parkjeffersonsd.
