Driver Information

I grew up in the Sand Dunes of west Texas in the small towns of Kermit and Wink. I am a 2nd generation driver following in my father Robert Wingrove's footsteps where I used to watch him race at Abilene Speedway on a weekly basis. I caught the bug at an early age and raced go karts whenever I could starting at the age of 6. I attended Wink High School and was part of a power house football program that was ranked #1 in the state 3 of my 4 years of HS earning All State Honors. I did NOT accel in academics due to the fact that I just wasn't interested so needless to say the colleges weren't knocking down my door with scholarships. So to avoid falling into the trap of working in the oilfield the rest of my life, I enlisted into the United States Air Force where I initially served as a Jet Engine Mechanic at Dover AFB in Dover Delaware. It was then that I realized how important education was. I enrolled into my first college course in August of 2001 and eventually (many years later) earned a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and a Master's Degree in Public Administration. After a few years turning wrenches on airplanes I decided that I wanted to fly them. So in 2006 I cross trained to become a C-5 Flight Engineer. I have been very fortunate in my life and have been able to witness some of the worlds most exotic and beautiful gifts that it has to offer. I ultimately served 12 years of active duty and 8 years in the Reserves. After I finished college and joined the Reserves, I started working for a United States Congressman in Washington D.C. as a Liaison and Advisor. After spending 6 years doing that I finally decided to move back to west Texas and settle down.
I now work for Plains All American Pipeline as a Business Manager and love every minute of it.

I decided to get back into racing in 2021 after a 6 year hiatus. I bought an old IMCA Southern Sport Mod from a friend and never looked back.
I am now in my 3rd season with a new car and I'm ready and able to compete again.
