Reneau Goes 3 Wide to Top DGS Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Cars at Devil's Bowl Speedway
Chaz Thompson - Mesquite, TX (April 6th, 2013) The Trinidad Texas driver of Scott Reneau has plans to venture to other race tracks in the 2013 racing season. On this night however, the long time Short-Track Ace was in a league of his own, on the flying fast 1/2 mile of the Devils Bowl Speedway. Starting in the 3rd spot after winning his heat race, Reneau took it 3 wide into turns
1 and 2, going wheel to wheel with pole sitter Dale Wester down the back stretch, eventually taking the lead on the exit of 4.
In a post race interview Reneau commented, “We always like running at the bowl and the car was just that fast tonight.” Asked if he would be running the entire 2013 season in the DGS Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Cars, Reneau replied “Well we are still gonna hit the short tracks every now and then, but like I said we like running here at the bowl and will sure be back.”
Reneau was your winner, with Ovilla, Texas Racer Dale Wester taking the Runner-Up spot. Martin Edwards challenged Wester throughout the race, but settled for 3rd. Logan Payne possibly had the fastest car on the track, putting pressure on both Edwards and Wester as the laps ran down, he ended up 4th. Raven Culp finished the night with a solid Top-5.
