Mallett Posts Fourth-Place Finish During Greg Hodnett Memorial

Inside Line Promotions – WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (June 21, 2022) – Jordon Mallett earned a fourth-place result last Saturday during the 4th annual Greg Hodnett Memorial hosted by Riverside International Speedway.

“Early on it looked like it’d be okay, but as the night progressed it was obvious it’d be a top-heavy track,” he said. “I felt we had a really good race car, as good as anybody.”

Mallett won a heat race from the pole position to kick off the action. That ranked him seventh in points to line up on the inside of the fourth row for the A Main.

“The heat race put us in a hole,” he said. “In the passing points format if you start on the pole of a heat race you’re basically penalized because you can only win. We did our job, but it still put us starting in the fourth row in the feature. That’s hard to overcome when it’s top dominant and you don’t have a lot of opportunities to pass. That was disappointing to see we’d be buried a bit in the feature.

“We had a good car in the feature and we were able to pick up some cars to get ourselves in the top five. I was trying to get a podium, but it was too narrow and hard to pass so we settled for fourth.”

Mallett’s fourth-place finish was his fourth top five in a row.

Next up for the team is a USCS Series doubleheader this Friday and Saturday at Thunderhill Raceway in Somerton, Tenn.
