Mallett Notches Fifth-Place Finish at Riverside International Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (Aug. 22, 2022) – Jordon Mallett produced his 11th top-five finish of the season last Saturday during a USCS Series event at Riverside International Speedway.

Mallett won a heat race to open the action before the feature inversion lined him up on the outside of the second row.

“It took a while for the track to start to come in,” he said. “I felt like we put ourselves in a decent position after the heat race. We just needed to start up front. I jumped to the top the first couple of laps. The top hadn’t come in yet and I lost a position to fall to fifth. I just rode there the rest of the race. I was in the hunt. We were all on top of each other. Nobody could seem to pass the guy in front of him.

“The track got fast and was pretty good. We needed to get in traffic for it to make people get out of the dominant line and move around. When we’d get in a good spot in traffic we’d have a caution. A top five was fine, but I just wish we could have started on the front row.”

The fifth-place result was Mallett’s ninth top five in his last dozen races. It was also his second top five and third top 10 in three starts at Riverside International Speedway this season.

“West Memphis always holds a special place in my heart,” he said. “I really like winning there and expect to win there so that part is disappointing. But I always say if we are crossing the scales at the end of the night we’ve done our job. We were a car that could have been in contention at any moment. It just needed to go the right way.”
