Mallett Garners Hard Charger Award During ASCS National Tour Race in Kentucky

Inside Line Promotions – PADUCAH, Ky. (May 13, 2025) – Jordon Mallett rebounded in a big way last Saturday during his debut at Paducah International Raceway.

“We felt like we were going to be all right, but something was off in hot laps,” he said. “We had an engine change and knew we couldn’t turn it around in time for qualifying. We started at the back of the heat race and it wasn’t conducive to passing. I wasn’t comfortable moving around on the track because it was so hard to see. Thankfully they reworked the track before the feature.”

Mallett wasn’t able to attempt qualifying to open the ASCS National Tour event and he placed sixth in a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the ninth row in the main event.

“It was super treacherous all night,” he said. “We were able to claw our way through there and salvage the evening. The car was a little off balance early on in the feature and not allowing me to move around on the track. The longer the race went the better it got. By the end I felt we had a car capable of being in the top five.”

Mallett rallied from 18th to an eighth-place result, marking his second straight top 10 to start the season. His 10 positions gained earned the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

“We needed to get a qualifying time in and we’d have been a lot better off because we had a fast race car,” he said. “That really put us behind for the remainder of the night, but that’s just part of it. We made the best of it.”
