Starks Excited for Skagit Speedway Season Opener This Sunday

Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (May 18, 2022) – Trey Starks is invading Skagit Speedway this Sunday during the track’s season opener.

Starks plans on racing more regularly at the high-banked oval in Alger, Wash., which showcases 10 nights of 360ci winged sprint car competition – including this weekend – as well as eight nights for 410ci winged sprint cars this year.

“Skagit is one of our home tracks and I’m excited to see the improvements and investment from the new owners,” he said. “Steve Beitler did a good job for many years and it’s great to see that next step forward this year. We hope to race there as often as we can in both the 360 and 410.”

Starks is aiming to capture the track’s season opener for the first time in his career this Sunday. He previously picked up the season-opening win at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash., last month.

“Winning at Grays Harbor gave us that added confidence after a long offseason,” he said. “The goal is always to win every time we show up to a track. It’d certainly be special to be able to win the season opener at both Grays Harbor and Skagit, but there will be a lot of talented drivers there on Sunday. We just need to worry about what we can control and try to put ourselves in contention.”

Starks earned three podiums, four top fives and nine top 10s at Skagit Speedway last year.
