Kobs and Berger Take the Top Spots in Double Features
The Pirtek UMSS would come to Cedar Lake Speedway for kids night and double features making up the feature mother nature took on 6/6/20. There was a quick rain shower early in the afternoon that would make for a racy track all night long.
The make up feature would have the 1 of Kobs and the 7 of Hanson weaving in and out of lapped traffic on a very heavy and fast track. A caution would come out for the 33s tumbling into turn one ending his night. Mr. Everything Kobs would hang on for the checkers and find himself in Rock Auto Victory Lane.
Results Pirtek A Feature: 1 Kobs, 7 Hanson, 7m McVitty, 13 Heikkinen, 19 Berger, 3 Johnson, 7d Becker, 33 Steahl, 65 Vadnais, 61 Kirchner, 11 Cody, 7k Becker, 33s Schultz (DNF), 2v Vogel (DNF), 22 Mueller(DNF), 95 Bradwell (DNF), 34 Stordahl (DNF)
The Pirtek cars would run 2 heats and a second feature race for the night. Jack Berger and Rick Kobs would win the heat races. The opening lap of the feature race would have the 7M and 95 getting together causing Bradwell to flip in turn 2. A complete restart would have the 19 of Berger take the lead and catch the tail of the field in less then 2 laps. The track was racy with lap times for the leader at 12.847 seconds. Berger would lead the balance of the feature even with an additional caution for the disabled 00 of Buck. Great racing all night long on a bad fast track.

The Pirtek UMSS Winged Sprints are back in action next Friday 6/26/20 at Gondick Law Speedway in Superior, WI.
