Blake Hahn Collects First Win Of 2021 Season

(April 21, 2021) Working steadily on the Smiley’s Racing Products No. 52 every time they’ve hit the track this season, that work finally paid off this past Saturday night with Blake Hahn’s first 2021 score coming at South Dakota’s Park Jefferson International Speedway with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network.
Last winning at the three-eighths-mile oval in 2016, Hahn was nearly untouchable on Saturday.
“That’s as good as I’ve ever felt in the car. I could pretty much run anywhere if I needed to, and it just stuck,” stated Hahn. “We’ve been trying different things at the Regional events, just to see what the car would do, so we were able to use some of that, in addition to some of the notes we’ve picked up from coming to Park Jeff. It just came together nicely.”
Turning around for the ASCS Sooner Region at Creek County Speedway on Sunday, Hahn looked like he was on his way to back-to-back wins, but an early race crash relegated the No. 52 to an 11th place finish.
“That was disappointing. One, because we were rolling pretty good, and two, because it was with Sean McClelland. I wasn’t happy at all about how that all happened because we both should have been on the front stretch at the end of that one.”
Getting things back together for this weekend, Hahn will be in action at U.S. 36 Raceway with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network and on Friday, April 23 and Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo. on Saturday, April 24 with the ASCS Sooner and Warrior Regions. Hahn is still contemplating taking the Midget to Wheatland as well.
