Ian Madsen and KCP Racing Pocket Pair of Top-10’s at Lake Ozark Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Back in action with the World of Outlaws over the weekend at Lake Ozark Speedway, Ian Madsen and KCP Racing put together two strong nights with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt” as they came away with seventh and tenth place finishes.

“We had really good speed all weekend long,” Ian Madsen said. “We timed in really well which was a great improvement from Pevely, MO last week, but late in the feature both nights we faded a little, so still a little more work to be done.”

Friday night the action kicked off with Madsen timing the Logan Contractors Supply, Inc./Aspen Aire/Royal Flooring backed No. 18 machine in third quickest in time trials before finishing second in his heat race.

Garnering a position in the DirtVision Fast Pass Dash, Madsen would finish third, and find himself in the second row of the 30-lap feature event.

On the slick Lake Ozark Speedway surface, Madsen would find himself battling for a podium position for much of the race as he chased after the likes of Logan Schuchart, and battled with Sheldon Haudenschild and Donny Schatz.

As the race drew to a close, Madsen would lose some grip he had in the early laps and would actually lose a few positions as he slipped back to a seventh place finish.

Saturday night action saw Madsen again time in well as this time he bettered himself and was second fastest in qualifying time trials. Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Madsen was able to pocket a second-place finish and again make his way into the DirtVision Fast Pass Dash.

Finishing seventh in the Dash, Madsen would roll off the starting grid from the seventh starting position with 35-laps to work his way forward. Another slick racing surface would see Madsen battle inside the Top-Five, before again losing a little grip and fading in the race’s closing laps.

Able to keep his machine inside the Top-10, Madsen’s 10th place finish marked his 10th Top-10 in 14 starts in 2020.

“We are doing a great job of making adjustments and identifying areas where we struggle, no we just have to get a little better at being there at the end of the race,” Madsen said. “My guys are doing a heckuva job, and I am looking forward to getting in some All Star Races in this week.”

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, , Ted’s Body Shop, Team Excavating, Cox Design and Fabrication, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, BergenKDV, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.
