Robinson and Briscoe attend Colossal 100 at Charlotte

Kent Robinson made the trek to The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) on Wednesday afternoon with Chase Briscoe piloting the Mahinda Tractors No. 14 Late Model for the first two nights of the Colossal 100.

Drawing a stout field of 47 XR Super Series entries, Briscoe’s eighth-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Needing to place third or better, Chase logged a sixth-place outing.

For another $25,000-to-win A-Main on Thursday night, Chase missed a transfer spot by two positions in his heat with a fifth-place finish, sending him into the B-Main. Locking in the top-two, Briscoe fell short with an eighth-place finish.

After wet weather axed Friday’s program, Kent hopped behind the driver’s seat of the JB’s Disposal Services No. 7R Late Model on Saturday for the Colossal 100 finale. Losing one spot in his heat race to finish fifth, Robinson transferred into the B-Main for one final shot at the $50,000-to-win A-Main. Starting in sixth, Kent tagged the outside wall while battling for a transfer spot, bringing an early end to his weekend.
