Jason Papich lands runner-up finish at Lucas Oil Speedway

Friday night found Papich Racing owner Jason Papich in action at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the doubleheader event with the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA). Drawing 38 cars, Papich laid down the second-fastest time in his group before picking up a heat race victory. Unable to track down polesitter Johnny Scott, Jason raced to a runner-up finish in the 30-lap affair. Stormy Scott, Chris Simpson, and Cole Wells rounded out the Top-5 finishers. For the second round of the MLRA Spring Nationals on Saturday, Jason secured his spot into the $7,000-to-win finale with an eight-lap win. Fading outside the Top-5 in the 40-lapper, Papich notched a seventh-place finish.
