Sams III Ready for First Race at Hendry County Motorsports Park Since March 2016

Inside Line Promotions – NORTH PORT, Fla. (Nov. 3, 2020) – It’s been four and a half years since Danny Sams III has raced at Hendry County Motorsports Park, which is the site of a doubleheader this weekend.

The Sams LaMountain Racing driver, who recently capped his first year running on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour by earning a 10th-place finish in the championship standings, will visit the dirt oval on Friday and Saturday for the first time since March 2016.

“The track surface is one like its own,” he said. “It’s beach sand on the bottom with a little bit of banking. You have to really get up on it. We’ll try to take what we’ve learned this year on the road and put it to good use.”

Sams III has a trio of top-10 finishes in three career 360ci sprint car starts at the track. His best run was a fourth-place showing during his most recent visit. Sams III also recorded seventh-place results in September and November of 2015.

“We’re looking for a top five or better than that,” he said. “We want to get good laps and run up front.”

It also helps that Hendry County Motorsports Park is one of the closest tracks – about an hour and a half – to the team’s race shop.

“It’d be really cool to run well,” he said. “To be able to put it out front in front of my friends and family would be special.”
