Gregory Tackling ASCS National Tour Debut This Weekend at I-30 Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – POPLAR GROVE, Ark. (March 24, 2021) – This weekend presents the start of a new opportunity for Paxton Gregory, who is focusing on 360ci winged sprint car competition in 2021.

Gregory will be making his Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour debut at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., where the national traveling series will be joined by the ASCS Mid-South Region on Friday and Saturday.

“This year is my first year in a 360,” he said. “We’re going to run the ASCS Mid-South Region full time and we will probably do some ASCS Lone Star Region and ASCS Sooner Region races as well. On our off weekends I plan on racing the 305 at some big shows.

“Coming off the 2019 Mid-South Sprint Car Association championship and running second last year with the series I’d really like to win the ASCS Mid-South Region championship and Rookie of the Year Award as we move up. That’s my biggest goal for this year.”

The first big show of the year is this weekend at a bullring where Gregory has visited a handful of times.

“We’ve run maybe five shows there and I think we have a couple of top 10s,” he said. “Last year we ran 10th during an ASCS Mid-South Region race last September.

“In hot laps the track can either be slick or tacked up or dusty. You don’t know what you’re going to get. What I really like about the place is there’s different racing lines. And with the competition that comes through that track, you never stop learning.”

Learning is certainly a focus this year as Gregory transitions to the 360 sprint car ranks and this weekend offers the first test.

“We have our standards pretty high,” he said. “I don’t want to get too big of a head thinking we’ll run in the top five. Those national guys bring their ‘A’ game week in and week out. We hope to keep it on all four and make the show. If we can do that we’ll see where we can go from there.”
