Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (Aug. 23, 2021) – Garet Williamson was on pace to score his second victory of the season when disaster struck last Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway.

The Bryant Paver Motorsports pilot hustled from third to win a heat race to garner the pole position for the A Main.

“We were really fast,” he said. “We got the lead on the first lap. I was really comfortable. The car was perfect. We were clicking off laps. We’d go four or five laps and have a yellow.”

Midway through the feature Williamson nearly crashed while avoiding a spinning car. Unfortunately, a similar circumstance occurred again in the closing laps and this time it resulted in a violent end to the night.

“The two yellows before a lapped car spun out in front of me and I got into the wall,” he said. “Then with two laps to go in turn one the same thing happened. I got in the wall trying to avoid someone and we flipped. At Lake Ozark this year, our home track where we’ve been consistently good, everything has seemed to go wrong.”

Williamson was unable to finish the race and he was credited with an 18th-place result.
