Rich started racing Karts at the age of 11 at Badger Raceway in Dousman Wi. Competing in both local and national WKA events. In 1991 as a senior in High School competed at Slinger Speedway and Madison International in the IMCA Modified division. Won his first feature in his fourth start at Slinger. Won the opening night feature at Madison in 1992, claimed 4 more wins that year and captured the IMCA points championship (2nd in track points).Moved up to the SuperLate Dvision at Slinger and Madison in 1993. Ran for points until 2003 Racking up 8 feature wins in that timeframe. Rich made 3 ASA NAtional Tour starts in 2003 and ran full time for Rookie of the year in 2004 competing all over the country including his first Super speedway events at Kentucky, Charlotte ,and Atlanta Motor Speedway. After the series disolved at the end of 04 Rich returned SuperLate model racing with the ASA Midwest Tour for two seasons earning two top-5 finishes. Rich then returned to Slinger Speedway part time for several years until 2019 when he finished 4th in the season point championship standings.
