The Perfit/Engine Pro Heat Race 3 got off to a rocky start as pole setter Garrett Saunders (Lakeville, IN) got loose in turns 1 & 2 and a charging Danny Sams III (Northport, FL) went airborn and flipping out of turn 2. With both drivers ok, the race resumed with Gressman securing the heat win. Jared Lamberson (Parma, MI) and Jeff DeVault (Plymouth, IN) finished 5th & 6th putting them as alternates to see if any GLSS members use their provisions. Micheal Summers (Warsaw, IN) came up in the allotted time and excerised his proversional and replaced Jeff DeVault.

In the redraw, Scheid pulled a 1 putting him on the pole and responsible for bringing the field around for the start. With the cars charging into turn 1, Horstman clips the wall at the exit area in the center of turns 1 and 2. The field is brought around again. This time, spinning out at the top of turns 1 and 2 are Brad Lamberson (Parma, MI), Long and DeVault which brought out the caution again.

An open red is called and the cars are moved to the infield so the track could be re-watered and packed in. Coming out for a 3rd restart, Horton comes around in the bottom and gathers up a passing Jones. The filed is then set up for a single file start.

As the green flag flies, the field comes to life and the whole field completes our first lap. Six minutes and 25 seconds later as the checkered flag flies, Gressman not only brings home the win, but he and the field completed our 2nd green flag to checkered race in 2 weeks. Peterson, Stambaugh, Daggett and Dobie rounded out the top 5 cars.
