WELK EARNS FIRST DACOTAH SPEEDWAY FEATURE WIN
Points leader John Gartner Jr led the Hobby Stock feature to the green flag. Gartner held onto the lead as Bill Hultberg and Brent Vetter battled for second. Hultberg started to fade through the field, losing positions to Curt Michaelsohn, Josh Roehrich and Chris Welk Jr. Vetter reeled in Gartner and they battled side by side for the win with five laps to go. As they raced for the win, it allowed Chris Welk to make it a three car battle. Contact between Vetter and Gartner cut a tire down on Vetter’s race car which resulted in Vetter spinning out on the front stretch with one lap to go. The race was cut one lap short and race officials declared Chris Welk the feature winner. Going back to the last completed lap, Brent Vetter finished second ahead of Curt Michaelsohn while John Gartner Jr edged Josh Roehrich for fourth.
