Legendary Cam Manufacturer, Steve Huggins has passed away.

Steve Huggins: Legendary Camshaft manufacturer has passed away.
Olive Branch, MS – November 9, 2024 – Legendary camshaft manufacturer Steve Huggins from Olive Branch, Mississippi has unexpectedly passed away at age 70.

The innovative camshaft specialist, who’s products almost completely dominated 360-winged sprint car racing Championships and the winners circle in the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) and United Sprint Car Series (USCS) and other series over the last three decades passed away in his home on Thursday, November 7th.

Steve Huggins had been in the camshaft business for over fifty years, with his initial experience gained at Cam Dynamics in the early 1970s. He started his own company, Huggins Cams forty years ago in 1984 .

Huggins Cams not only dominated in 360-winged sprint car racing, but had a wide foot print in all forms of dirt track racing including 410-winged and non-winged sprints plus Late Model, Modified and Stock Car Racing.

United Sprint Car Series Founder and President, Pete Walton said” Steve Huggins will be sorely missed in the performance racing industry. Steve and Huggins Cams has previously been, and currently are contingency award sponsors of our series. We will forever miss his friendship and advice as will our racers, and I’m sure, his many engine building associates that he serviced. Our condolences to the entire Huggins family and to his friends and associates for their loss.
