Sprint Invaders Try to Tame the Benton County Bullring Sunday!
(Bill W) June 29, 2022 – For the second year in a row, the 4th of July weekend means a Sprint Invaders run at the Benton County Speedway bullring in Vinton, Iowa, this Sunday, July 3!
Sedalia, Missouri’s Jonathan Cornell picked up the inaugural win on the quarter-mile in Vinton last season. Who will it be on Sunday?
Veteran Ryan Jamison leads the current driver point standings over Cody Wehrle, Bret Tripplett, Jamie Ball and rookie Devin Wignall. Tanner Gebhardt, Colton Fisher, Tyler Lee, Chris Martin and Dustin Clark round out the top ten heading into Vinton.
Both pit gate and grandstand open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 5:30 and racing at 6. Grandstand admission is $20 for adults, $17 for seniors and veterans, and $5 for ages 6-14. Children ages five and under are admitted free if accompanying a paid adult. Pit passes are $30. The track’s IMCA divisions are also on the card.
