Stormy Scott bags Top-5 finish in season opener at Vado Speedway Park
Scott Brothers Racing lifted the lid on the 2022 season on Saturday afternoon with Johnny and Stormy Scott competing at Vado Speedway Park (Vado, New Mexico) for the 16th annual Wild West Shootout. With 31 Late Models entered, Stormy picked up an eight-lap heat race win to start off the night while Johnny trailed him across the line in fourth. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Stormy dropped two positions to register a fourth-place finish. He followed Brandon Sheppard, Bobby Pierce, and Mike Marlar across the line with Earl Pearson Jr. coming in fifth. Johnny improved four spots in the 25-lapper to finish 11th. (Mike Ruefer photo)
On Sunday, Stormy logged an eighth-place finish in his heat before scratching from his B-Main. Johnny locked his spot into the $5,000-to-win A-Main with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Rolling off 16th, Johnny was an early retiree on the 22nd circuit.
