Bordertown Throwdown At Caney Valley Speedway Next For Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series

Bryan Hulbert – CANEY, Kan. (October 4, 2022) A quick jog into Kansas this weekend is on tap for the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division, as the superstars of small cars take on Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kan. in the Bordertown Throwdown on Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8.

Headlined by all three NOW600 divisions (A-Class, Non-Wing, and Restricted), the series is joined by the AmeriFlex Hose and Accessories Oil Capital Racing Series IMCA Sprint Cars both nights with the weekend card rounds including Pure Stocks and Factory Stocks.

Going into the weekend, Frank Flud has amassed a sizable points advantage, with a 167 buffer in Stock Non-Wing, and 350 in A-Class. A dominant force in Restricted this season, Jett Nunley has turned nine wins in 17 starts into a 187-point advantage. Both drivers claimed wins in the tour’s last visit to the Kansas quarter-mile in June during Sooner600 Week. Keeping Flud from a sweep of the stock divisions, Louisiana’s Chelby Hinton captured the Non-Wing victory.

Friday, October 7, the Pits will open at 4:00 P.M. with Grandstands at 6:00 P.M. Cars are scheduled to hit the track for Hot Laps at 7:00 P.M. with Racing at 8:00 P.M. (CDT).

Saturday, October 8, will clear the Pits at 2:00 P.M. with Hot Laps at 5:00 P.M. and Racing at 6:00 P.M. (CDT).
