Inside Line Promotions – Mt. POCONO, Pa. (Jan. 31, 2023) – Joey Amantea has lofty expectations following a career-best campaign last year.

Amantea and his family owned team will return to full-time competition with the Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars, aiming for a first career championship after posting his first-ever non-wing sprint car feature victory and a fourth-place finish in the championship standings last season.

The team’s schedule also showcases an increase in the number of 410ci non-wing sprint car events, including five straight with the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars to kick off the season – Feb. 13-14 at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., during the Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals and Feb. 16-18 at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla., during the Winter Dirt Games XIV.

“I’d like to make the shows every night and get at least one top 10,” he said. “From everything I’ve watched Volusia seems similar to Selinsgrove in a way with the big, sweeping turns, whereas Bubba is a complete curve ball. Just gaining experience is what I’m mostly looking forward to.”

Amantea, who has Brian Zyck returning as the crew chief, currently has more than 65 non-wing sprint car races on the calendar along with a handful of micro sprint shows.

“We’re doing a lot of 410s,” he said. “I think with running the eight shows we did last year, from where we started to how we finished I built a lot of confidence in myself and the car. More seat time will lead to better results. I think it will also help our 360 program.

“My goal this year with the USAC East Coast Sprint Cars is to have five wins and win the championship. And with the 410 stuff I’d like to qualify for the feature and be competitive in every USAC race. When we run with the BOSS Series I’d like to podium or get a win. We have a lot of expectations, but also want to have fun.”
