WLRDS Races to a Packed Outagamie Speedway
The Wisconsin Legends Racing Dirt Series helped christen the 2023 season, as part of the 190-plus car count at Outagamie Speedway on Friday. The only thing that looked bigger than the back gate, was the front gate that led to a packed grandstand.
With six classes and so many cars, it was going to be a challenging night to get everything in under the best circumstances. The show ran quickly, as a drizzle seemed to linger all night. It wasn’t enough rain to even keep cars in their trailers, just enough to irk you. At least the fans were under the covered grandstands.
In the end, the WLRDS cars only got to run their heats, as the last few features were cut due to curfew. The highlight of the night was Brady Ascherien’s first career win. Adam Zellmer and Ryan Sullivan took the other heats. Twenty Legends were on hand.
Hats off to the entire track crew at Outagamie Speedway who helped give the fans a ton of racing. WLRDS will see you again on, June 2nd.
Many of the WLRDS stars will be in action this Tuesday, May 16, at Beaver Dam Raceway’s weekly Five-Division show.
The next WLRDS point paying race, is slated for this coming Sunday, May 21 at historic Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI.
Thanks to our dedicated WLRDS race day crew of Tim Franz, Tricia Sullivan and Dan Ard for their hard work.
A special thanks goes out to Warren Ropp who dove up from Iowa to serve as our tech official. We literally could not have done this without him!
