Locked Into Gear as our Season Moves Forward

The Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series will hit a busy patch in the schedule as they have doubleheader weekends the next four weekends in a row. Fresh off a big co-sanctioned night with the All Stars this past Saturday at Wilmot, the IRA will head to the Plymouth Dirt Track this coming Saturday, May 20th for the annual Frank Filskov Memorial / Prelude To The Rudeen. Saturday will also kick off Round One of the Hopf Farms Bullring Showdown. The teams will conclude the weekend at Angell Park Speedway Sunday, May 21st. The weekend of May 27th and 28th has the winged 410's back at Wilmot Raceway, before making their traditional Memorial Day appearance at 141 Speedway for Round Two of the Hopf Farms Bullring Showdown.

WEEKEND THREE IS A BIG ONE as the All Stars are back for more co-sanctioned fun at what is going to be a huge weekend. Friday, June 2nd is the Gib Wiser Classic, which will be the biggest event in the history of the Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway. Saturday, June 3rd is the Rayce Rudeen Foundation $26k to win. This race hosts the richest payday to win in Wisconsin Sprint Car Racing at the Sheboygan County Fair Park's Plymouth Dirt Track. The Rayce Rudeen Foundation will be set up at BOTH events that weekend to help educate people and bring awareness to those who battle with addiction. Tickets for both events are available by clicking on those dates on the schedule on irasprints.com.

June 10th and 11th take IRA into Illinois and the Sycamore Speedway on Saturday. Then on Sunday, the group goes back over the border again to Angell Park on June 11th. Solid car counts are expected at all events. Open wheel cars are featured as support classes at each, whether it’s the Badger Midgets, MSA Sprints, IRA Lightning Sprints, or all the above competing in a support role.

The IRA point chase is off to a great start with past 2-time champ Jake Blackhurst sitting on top of the standings over the defending series champion Jordan Goldesberry. Following behind the two in the charts are Rookie Brenham Crouch, Blake Nimee, Russel Borland, and rookie Travis Arenz (tie), Danny Schlafer, Scotty Neitzel, Josh Scheidermann, with Kyle Schuett rounding out the current top ten.

This Saturday, May 20th at Plymouth is the annual Frank Filskov Memorial / Prelude To The Rudeen. On Sunday, May 21st, the IRA is proud to be part of the historic Angell Park Speedway’s season opener.

The IRA is proud to continue the legacy of Scott Semmelmann, although the location and time of the year are changing. The July 1st event at the Plymouth Dirt Track will now be the Scott Semmelmann Memorial. This event and location is fitting as Scott ran a few seasons as a regular competitor with the MSA.

Additionally, it was GREAT to see our friend Jake Neuman walking around the pits at Wilmot Saturday as he continues his recovery from the Lakeside/High Limits crash. Fans can expect to see the 3N back in IRA action soon.
