Tight Points Battles to be Settled This Weekend at ACS

Tight points battles to be settled this weekend at the Adams County Speedway

The closest points battle currently has been in the Northland Oil Stock Cars. Going into championship night Jesse Dennis currently leads Brad Derry by just 2 points. Dennis will be looking to claim his 1st championship in the stock car division (8th overall in his career). Brad Derry will be gunning for his 5th championship in the stock cars which would give him 3 consecutive and 4 in the last 5 seasons. This will be virtually winner take all; If Brad Derry wins the race, he will be your champion, otherwise Brad must finish 2 positions ahead of Dennis. If Brad beats Dennis by one spot and doesn’t win the race Jesse Dennis would win the championship on tiebreaker of most wins in 2024.

Our RJ’s Plumbing and Heating Sport Mods will also come down to the last lap this weekend as Bryce Allen despite having a stellar 9 points paying wins in 2024 will roll into championship night up 8 markers on high side hustling Hunter Poston who has 2 wins to his own credit. Shawn Kralik sits 3rd back 25 points and Evan Davis after a DNF last Saturday is 4th back 38 points. If Bryce finishes 4th or better, he will clinch his 1st ever track championship.

The Floating Vine Compacts have had a wild season to say the least. John Berg found himself atop the point standings again looking for his 3rd straight championship, which would be most all time within the compact division. Berg will head into championship night with an 18-point lead over Zander Steiner. Steiner will be looking for his 1st championship as well. Berg will need to finish 8th or better to clinch the title, Steiner would own the tiebreaker based on wins.

Next up is the POET Biorefining Modifieds. Jeff Wiggins has had the 36T dialed in all season long, his consistency has built him up a 36-point lead over the all-time winningest modified driver in ACS history Jesse Dennis. Wiggins will need to finish 18th or better Saturday night to earn his 1st ever championship at ACS. Wiggins would become the 21st different modified champion in ACS history if he’s able to do so.

Adam Hensel has the Chat Mobility Hobby Stock championship all but wrapped up with an 86-point gap over Cody Werner. The Blazin’ Banana has blazed his way to a top 5 in nearly every feature this season, he’s also got 2 wins to his credit. By taking the green flag in a heat race on Saturday, Hensel will earn his 2nd straight Adams County Speedway track championship.

It all goes down this Saturday night, September 14th at the Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa. Pits open at 4, grandstands open at 5, hot laps roll off at 6:30, and racing action fires up the big half mile at 7! DON’T MISS IT!!
