Wolfe's 23rd Track Championship Marks Change In Focus For 2025
Back to Back All Seasons General Contracting Sportsman track champion, Randy Wolfe, clinched his 23rd track championship at the historic Bunker Hill Dragstrip in 2024. Wolfe, whose first full season of racing was in 1992, has experienced success that many racers dream of. While Wolfe, a retired math teacher, could probably calculate the percentage of championships he has won over the years. It doesn’t take a genius to compute that 32 years of racing + 23 championships = A lot of success.
When the idea of your son winning his first track championship is more exciting than the idea of winning your 24th track championship, it might be time for a shift in focus. That is exactly what the veteran racer, who has also competed in the Bellman Oil Top class over the years, will be doing in 2025. Last year, Chevy, Wolfe’s youngest son, decided to follow in his dad’s footsteps and began chasing points in the All Seasons General Contracting Sportsman Class at Bunker Hill Dragstrip. The elder Wolfe immediately noticed the raw talent that his son possessed, and realized that it’s now time to focus on helping Chevy develop into a successful bracket racer.
2025 will look different for the Wolfe family. Other than select events, Randy will be sitting out of the Bellman Oil Super Pro Class. While it will be strange to see Randy Wolfe not chasing points in 2 classes, Chevy will be picking up the slack, by racing in the 2 classes his dad has been racing in for many years. Randy will continue to compete in the All Seasons General Contracting Sportsman Class, and is looking forward to spending the majority of his race days mentoring his son.
