Midwest Legends Dirt Series
Track ID: the Plymouth Dirt Track
With the 2nd Midwest Legends Dirt Series season right around the corner, we want to spotlight the tracks we will be visiting throughout the season. Some tracks will be familiar to fans of the MLDS while some tracks will be completely new. Let’s jump in and learn about some fantastic facilities!!
The second track the MLDS will visit is the Plymouth Dirt Track. Located at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, Wisconsin, the track also known as PDTR will host a single race during the 2025 season. Last season, the one appearance for the MLDS was rained out, so we have to go back to 2023 to find the last showing for legend cars. Austin Winkel and Adam Zellmer took home the wins in the 2023 races, with Winkel taking the first race and Zellmer taking home the other two.
Adam Zellmer is the obvious driver to keep an eye out for, but you can’t count out drivers such as Ryan Sullivan, Dallas Ross, and Matt Gritt. Sullivan brought home top 5 performances in two out of the three races. Ross has always been strong in the past at PDTR, with multiple finishes high up the field. And don’t count out hometown hero Matt Gritt. Gritt boasts a ton of experience at the track and can’t be one to look past.
The 1/3rd semi-banked red clay oval is a perfect bullring. Sweeping corners with short straights will force drivers to make the most of their moves. If a speedy driver starts deep in the field, make sure to keep your eyes on them as they are bound to put on a show. April 26th will play host to the series as well as PDTR’s opening night.
