Can-Am Speedway Crowns 2024 Karting Champions

The top drivers in the 2024 karting season at the Can-Am Speedway were honored at the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel in Clayton New York this past Friday night. Veterans and up and coming stars took home top honors in 11 divisions including the brand new Microd class.

All drivers in the Red Clone Rookie class were received awards on the night. Charlotte Bartlett, Jasper Bassett, Lucas Kelly, Jackson Hewitt, Audrey Wight, Luca Battaglia and Bryce Bartlett all received awards from feature and heat wins, to perfect attendance.

In the Junior Red Clone class, it was Harloe Russell claiming the point title following a tie breaker with Russell Trickey. Both drivers finished the year with 434 points, however Harloe’s 4 wins to Russell Trickey’s 2 wins, were the deciding factor in the championship fight. Eli Reid, Nolan Schroy and Chevy Chapman rounded out the top 5 in points.

Mason Rogers dominated the Junior Green Clone class with 8 wins in 9 events, along with 7 heat wins in 2024. Canadian Liam Pakenham as second in the title chase ahead of Lily Walters and Liam O’Connor, who tied for 3rd, while Bryson Gill finished up 5th in points.

Derek Bird won 5 events out of 9 to secure the Junior Purple Clone division in 2024. Bird claimed the championship by 44 points over Cale Timmerman and Chandler Remp.

In the Junior Blue Clone division Eben Cook was declared the track champion with 5 feature wins on the year and 6 heat victories to add to it.

Genavieve Bartlett scored the Junior Unrestricted championship in 2024 with three feature wins. Bartlett also competed on Friday nights in the Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman scoring her first career win on June 21st last year. She claimed the title by 10 points over two-time feature winner Troy Hutton with Canadian drivers Elliot Stacey, Ally Wilkinson and Landon Ryan completing the top 5 in track points.

Mason and Kaleb Kiah were honored for their performances in limited events in the Junior Microd Open class.

Ronald O’Neil and Mike Amell took honors in the Open class.

Jack Hutton was one of two winners in 9 events in the Clone Light division last year. Despite missing a race Seth Whitney won all 7 races he entered but fell 4 points short of pulling off the come back. Jeremy Shelley, Cameron Taylor and McKenzie Graham finished out the top 5 spots in the standings.

In Clone Heavy Seth Whitney was once again denied a track title, even though he won all 7 races he entered, as Grayson Soper would claim the victory using consistency to hold on to the championship. Canadian Adam Kouk finished third in the standings.

The Clone Super Heavy class saw Courtney Robbins win three times to secure yet another Can Am track championship. Robbins won the season finale which helped her earn the track title by two points over runner up William Young, with Ben Timmerman, Jacob and Todd Masuicca finishing out the top 5 spots in points.

Along with the winners in each class a special sponsorship program was announced by the Bartlett family, in particular the Rookie Red division. Thanks to a partnership with Wight Lightning Racing, all drivers in the class will receive free registration in 2025, to which, the crowd in attendance gave the Wight family a well-deserved standing ovation, thanking them for this opportunity for new drivers to get involved in the sport.

The 2025 Karting season at Can-Am kicks off with an open practice day on April 19th with the season opener set for May 3rd. The schedule will see Double Down Under The Light Nights in July and August. The Karting program will continue to run every other Saturday, with the season finale set for August 16th.
