Midwest Legends Dirt Series
Track ID: The Hill Raceway
With the 2nd Midwest Legends Dirt Series season right around the corner, we want to spotlight the tracks we will be visiting throughout the season. Some tracks will be familiar to fans of the MLDS while some tracks will be completely new. Let’s jump in and learn about some fantastic facilities!!
A new track for the series takes place number eleven in the series, with The Hill Raceway next up. The second most northern track takes us to Door County for the first time in the series history.
The track located in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, has been operating for over 70-years is one that drivers will get to check off the bucket list. The track, which has been known by many names in the past, has been in its current iteration for a fair few years. The track hosts series such as the IRA Sprint Cars, Dirt King Late Models, and various other traveling series. Classes such as Stock Cars, Street Stocks, 4 Cylinders, and Sport Mods make up the series weekly classes on Saturday nights.
Legends have, by our research, not been to the track in recent years, with stats to us unknown. We are sure someone has them somewhere and they will probably end up in the comments of the facebook post that will accompany this article. You’d have to imagine some of the northern drivers who may have practice experience at the track could be fast, drivers such as Alex Haese, Connor Carey, and Russell Loof all could be fast. Another driver to watch out for is Tim Franz, the only driver in the field who may have raced at the track in the past.
A single date for the MLDS at the 1/3rd, slightly banked clay oval awaits. A special fair night appearance for the series will see the legends take to the track on August 16th, alongside the weekly classes.
