US 13 Dragway
May Winners at US 13 Dragway

US 13 Dragway finished the month of May with 2 WDRA Bracket shows and the Hillbilly Bracket Bash. Weather was a factor that played into several weekends in May.
Mother’s Day weekend is typically not a Dragway weekend because we have closed the track on Mother’s Day since the beginning because Mommom Juanita wouldn’t allow it. We made the decision over the winter months to do a Friday-Saturday event with trying something we haven’t done before, we planned 2 complete races on Saturday. Friday night was a test and tune session for all classes and Saturday we were able to get it done! The first race winners were crowned!

The month closed out with the Hillbilly Bracket Bash. The forecast was not promising for a smooth weekend; however, the staff faced it head on. Friday night Test and Tune finished just in the knick of time before a powerful storm tore through the track bringing heavy rain and gusty wind. Teams were given enough warning to get everything packed up to start Saturday’s event.
Saturday morning’s wet racing surface pushed our start time back a couple of hours, but once we started we were able to complete the race day awarding the memorable Hillbilly Bracket Bash trophies. The Fishbowl Top Bulb winner was Chad Thurman over Alex Bradford. Beach Custom Services Bottom Bulb winner was Michael Jefferson. Hazzard Auto Parts Jr Dragster winner was Gavin Cramer.
Sunday, everyone was able to get a time run through a Dash for Cash before we started the final day of the Hillbilly Bash. At the end of the day, The Fishbowl Top Bulb winner was Brian Morrison, Beach Custom Services Bottom Bulb winner was Tim Foskey Jr and Hazzard Auto Parts Jr Dragster winner was Shane Conner.
Upcoming US 13 Dragway events are June 13-15 WDRA Bracket Weekend and June 20-22 Showdown on the Shore presented by TLR Promotions.
