Lewis on Top Again at Jefferson
Jefferson, WI (June 30th, 2025) - It was a night that looked like many others for Jackson Lewis, as he cruised home to pick up his first Midwest Legends Asphalt Series win at Jefferson Speedway. A track that Lewis has been on fire at this season, Jefferson proved to be one difficult track.
A Twenty-one car field filled the pits on the night. The drivers immediately had to deal with a difficult new track, as extreme heat caused buckling in turns one and two causing the track to have to extend curbing up a lane on the track.
Qualifying was up first, and it was Dalton Lee at the top of the timing charts with a 15.414. Lewis was second with Cael Slater third. Lincoln Cain and Dallas Kibbe rounded out the top five.
Trevor Lami took the first heat race of the night with Aaron Genske and Matthew Weber second and third. Heat two went to Lewis while Cain finished second and Jayden Johnson finished third. Slater stood victorious in heat three, with second going to Jacob Stark and Lee fourth.
Tyler Edmundson took home the last chance qualifier race with Weber, Michael Sina, Lami, and Kyle Mitchell all going with him to the feature.
The feature lined up with Lee and Carter Stein on the front row. Chaos kicked off early as cars got airborne bringing out the yellow. Lee led early while eyes turned back to Jackson Lewis, who began picking his way through traffic. Slater moved into the third spot while on track action heated up. Lewis was able to break through for the lead and went on to drive off into the night, picking up the win with Stein and Slater second and third. Cain and Johnson were scored in the fourth and fifth positions.
The Midwest Legends Asphalt Series are back in action for three massive dates in July. First, the annual COPS race at Hawkeye Downs, with a big $1,000-to-win feature on the 12th. Then, another trip to Jefferson Speedway awaits on the 19th. Then a trip to Golden Sands Speedway wraps up the month on the 26th.
