What Up Dog 40 Gets New Format, Increased Purse

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Farmer City, IL) Officials with the Midwest Street Stock Championship, Farmer CIty Raceway, and the Chris "Dog" Reynolds family have agreed to a revised format and increased payout for the Third Annual What Up Dog 40 at Farmer City Raceway on August 4th.

The What Up Dog 40 is a memorial race for Chris "Dog" Reynolds. A native of Farmer City, Dog was an avid dirt track fan and attended the Farmer Farmer City Raceway for over 40 years. Dog sponsored multiple race teams through the years and was one of the original founders of "Turn 2 Tap". This race is dedicated to preserving the memory of Dog; his love of many great friends, great times and passion of dirt track racing.

The new format will see the introduction of a Second Chance Race to take place at the end of the night's racing program. The Second Chance Race is for any and all drivers that do not qualify for the main event and will pay the regular weekly payout for Farmer City Raceway, which is detailed below. "We wanted to find a way to make the event all encompassing," said Peggy Tobin, Dog's sister. "Adding in the Second Chance Race is our way of including more racing to more people throughout the whole night because that's what Dog would have wanted!"

In addition to the Second Chance Race, the main event payout has been increased form last year. The race is still $1,000 to win but is now $100 to start, and increase for the $85 to start in the 2016 event.

If you are interested in being a part of this event, the Tobin family is selling lap sponsorship for $50 each. You can reach out to them via their What Up Dog Memorial Race Facebook Page.
