Westbrook Podiums In ASCS Sooner/Warrior Opener At Lake Ozark Speedway

Bryan Hulbert – ELDON, Mo. (April 3, 2021) Rebounding from a DNF the previous week in Texas, Dylan Westbrook stormed to a runner-up finish during night one of the 2021 season openers for the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products, and Racinboys.com ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps at Lake Ozark Speedway.
“I think we did pretty good last night for the first time ever being here, so we’re just going to fine-tune the setup a little bit going into tonight, and hopefully, if everything goes good, finish one spot ahead of what we did last night,” stated Dylan of his Friday night run.
A win in his Heat Race from the right of the front row was enough to qualify the Nitro 54 Variety No. 47x for the A-Feature redraw. Pulling a seven, Dylan battled into the top five on Lap 10. Dicing up with Scott Bogucki and Blake Hahn in the closing laps, contact between the two opened the door on Lap 23 for Westbrook to roll by both for second.
“I saw them hitting, and all I was trying to do was not get collected in a wreck if one of them spun,” explained Dylan of the situation. “Luckily, we were able to take advantage of it instead and got around both of them in three and four.”
Back at the Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday, April 3, Hot Laps for the event get underway at 5:30 P.M. (CDT). Fans not able to attend can watch live on www.racinboys.com.
Dylan Westbrook is a part of the Canadian-based Hills Racing Team. The 2021 season marks the 17th year of racing for Dylan Westbrook. Starting with Dirt Bikes and Go-Karts at age five, Dylan has been behind the wheel of a Sprint Car for seven years. Four championships as Ohsweken Speedway since 2015, Westbrook made the jump to the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network in 2020, earning the Brodix National Rookie of the Year.
