Inside Line Promotions – HARTFORD, Ohio (July 10, 2018) – Kevin Swindell Racing had a solid performance throughout the half-dozen Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek shows it tackled last week.

Spencer Bayston and NASCAR driver Christopher Bell split the ride during five races in The Keystone State and one in Maryland. The team set quick time during qualifying twice, won a heat race and earn one top five as well as two top 10s during the busy week.

Bell piloted the sprint car for three straight nights beginning a week ago Sunday at Path Valley Speedway Park in Spring Run, Pa., where he set quick time during qualifying, placed third in a heat race and ended 11th in the A Main.

He followed that up the next night by rallying from 18th to 13th at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa., before charging into a podium position a week ago Tuesday at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pa. Unfortunately, a flat tire in the closing laps relegated Bell to a 17th-place finish.

“We made a lot of gains at Lincoln and carried that over into Grandview,” Swindell said.

Bayston climbed into the driver’s seat on Wednesday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., where he timed in 14th quickest, won a heat race and advanced from sixth to fourth place in the A Main.

“Port Royal was really good, especially for being a place a lot of people have a hard time at,” Swindell said. “That was a good one to run well at because we’ll go back a couple of times this year.”

Bayston set quick time during qualifying the ensuing night at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Md., before capping the night with a 10th-place feature finish. He then placed 14th at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on Friday.

“Overall it was good,” Swindell said. “I think we were reasonable everywhere. Lincoln, Williams Grove and Port Royal take a different package to be good. I thought we adapted everything really well and made gains the whole time. It was a positive the whole time.”

Bayston agreed and said it helped to watch Bell compete the first three nights.

“I felt like it was well worth the trip,” he said. “Getting to sit and watch Christopher run the car the first couple of nights was helpful. Having someone else giving feedback on the stuff I’d been feeling was good. To get in it at Port Royal and have the run we did felt really good. The tracks out there are much different so to have a good run at Port Royal with those guys was a big confidence booster for us.”

The busy week wrapped up on Saturday at Sharon Speedway during the Lou Blaney Memorial with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. Bayston qualified third quickest in his group, won a heat race, placed fourth in a dash and rallied from eighth to third place during the main event.

The team will take this weekend off before resuming competition on July 17 at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., during the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.
