2019 UMSS SCHEDULES: STRONGEST YET FOR TRADITIONALS AND NEW WING PROGRAM DEBUTS WITH 15 EVENTS

Harris, Minnesota 1/26/19 - With great excitement, the Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series (UMSS) announces its
2019 traditional and wing schedules that will see the UMSS invade 9 different facilities for 29 nights of racing
with our brand of sustainability, affordability and accessibility.
"We look forward to our 11th season of sprint car racing in 2019," long-time Series Director Shawn Cimfl stated.
Based on the strength of our relationship with tracks and promotors, the UMSS put together a strong 2019
season for our teams, tracks and fans.
Once again, Cedar Lake Speedway (CLS) will be the cornerstone for both series in 2019 with 16 events for the
traditionals and 9 for the wings. The legendary facility located in New Richmond, Wisconsin, will celebrate 62
years in business this year. The traditional season will start at CLS April 6th and the Legendary Opener
scheduled for April 11, 12 and 13 will get the season started with a bang. Other marquee events for the
traditionals at CLS include the WoO weekend, the second annual two-day Traditional Challenge, Richert
Memorial, and the Legendary 100. The traditionals will once again be part of the CLS Dash Series.
The wings will bookend their season at CLS in 2019 opening their season May 18th and ending the season
September 12th at the Legendary 100. In between, the wings are included in both nights of the WoO and
Traditional Challenge weekends as well as four other dates.
Memorial Day Weekend brings traditions for many and that is no different for the UMSS. Once again the
series will visit Rice Lake Speedway on Saturday, May 25th and Eagle Valley Speedway on Sunday, May 26th.
Both the traditionals and wings will be in action during the weekend.
Other highlights include the annual Northern Tour that includes a trio of tracks in 2019 and includes both the
traditionals and the wings. For the second year in a row, the weekend starts Friday, June 21st at Gondik Law
Speedway in Superior, Wisconsin. The weekend continues at Hibbing Raceway Saturday, June 22nd for the
Rene Hughes Memorial, and concludes Sunday, June 23rd at Proctor Speedway. The Northern Renegades will
join the UMSS the entire weekend.
In addition, Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wisconsin returns to the schedule in 2019 with an event on
Friday, July 19th for both the traditionals and wings.
The UMSS is still working with a couple of tracks to book shows on these TBD dates: May 31st/June 1st, June
28th, July 26th and Labor Day weekend. A new, high-profile weekend of racing at two new facilities for the
traditionals has been confirmed, but the exact date is yet to be determined. Also, the wings will have one
additional show at CLS with that date still to be determined.
With a new wing program, new faces and new facilities, the 2019 UMSS season promises to be very exciting.
