Sunoco signing on as title sponsor for Lone Star IMCA Stock Car Tour

KENNEDALE, Texas (Feb. 13, 2023) – The title sponsor of the IMCA Stock Car division is the new title sponsor of the upcoming tour for The Class Too Tough to Tame in Texas.

Six race dates are on the Sunoco Race Fuels Lone Star IMCA Stock Car Tour schedule, starting with $1,000 to win, minimum $100 to start features Friday, March 3 and Saturday, March 4 at Kennedale Speedway Park.

Drivers who are pre-registered and maintain perfect attendance tour earn progressive payouts from that point, $2,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start Monday, March 6 and Tuesday, March 7 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite and $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start Wednesday, March 8 and Thursday, March 9 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco.

“This is a big deal. It’s not just the winners that are going to get more money every night,” tour director Jon Courchaine of Sniper Speed Chassis said, with a Texas-wide grin that stretched from El Paso to Port Arthur. “Plus, we have tons and tons of great contingency awards and there will be a special bonus announcement we will make right before the tour starts.”

All six Lone Star Stock Car Tour programs are B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying events and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region and Texas State points will be awarded.

IMCA.TV. broadcasts each night of the tour, which also features Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods.

The March 2 practice night at Kennedale features a $300 to win Stock Car pit crew challenge, which also earns that driver a provisional start if they do not qualify for main events Friday or Saturday; The March 5 practice session at Mesquite will be followed by a drivers’ appreciation party.

“The new format, with three tracks hosting two races, reduces the miles drivers have to travel during the week,” noted Courchaine, “and moving the tour from February to March should see weather better suited to racing. February weather in Texas has not always been good to us, especially last year with the ice.”

Drivers can pre-register for the Sunoco Race Fuels Lone Star IMCA Stock Car Tour through MyRacePass at sniperspeedtour.com for $380 by Feb. 28 or for an additional $100 after that date. Drivers who opt to pay the $75 nightly fee are not eligible for doubled or tripled purse shares or for the Kirk Martin Sportsmanship award.

Midstate Machine provides the engine to be raffled off at the conclusion of the tour. Proceeds from ticket sales will be added to nightly purses and the drawing winner can choose between the engine or $5,000 in cash.

More information about the Sunoco Race Fuels Lone Star IMCA Stock Car Tour is posted on the SniperSpeedTour.com website and on Facebook, or available from Courchaine at 920 373-3350.
