Wilson Earns Eighth-Place Result at Attica Raceway Park

Inside Line Promotions – ATTICA, Ohio (July 26, 2021) – Greg Wilson recorded his 19th top 10 of the season last Friday at Attica Raceway Park.
The Seeling Motorsports driver qualified fifth quickest in his group before finishing fifth in a heat race, which locked the Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics backed team into the 12th starting position in the A Main.
“Doing all of this in the last two and a half weeks, running though a big race weekend and progressing, we felt like we had a shot at winning rolling into Attica,” he said. “The pill draw didn’t go in my favor early and come feature-time we were okay. We’re trying to get where we are gelling. Andy (Potter) has the feel of the car the way it needs to be, but we’re just fine-tuning to go from eighth to fifth to winning. I feel we’re close. It was another solid night. I think we had a car that could have battled for the top two or three spots if we started up there, but we weren’t quite good enough to pass a bunch of cars to drive up there.”
Wilson did advance a handful of positions to finish eighth.
Next up for is a trip east to race this Friday at Ransomville Speedway in Ransomville, N.Y., during The Big ‘R’ Shootout and Saturday at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y., during the Empire State Challenge with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.
“Any time you race with the World of Outlaws it’s a gauge to see if you’re improving,” he said. “You’re racing with the best of the best. Every week we’re making changes and I feel we’re improving. This will be a great weekend to see if we’re any better.”
Wilson last raced at both tracks in July 2018 when he placed 11th at Ransomville Speedway and 13th at Weedsport Speedway.
“I’m pretty excited,” he said. “It seems like every time we’ve been to Ransomville we’ve battled weather. Hopefully when we get on the track we’re not battling any weather because it’s a cool place.
“Weedsport is an awesome facility and a fun race track. It’s challenging and unique. Turns one and two are a lot different than turns three and four.”
The weekend begins on Thursday with a Hercules Tires dealership visit at Finger Lakes Tires in Auburn, N.Y., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
